EarFun Wave Pro Wireless Headphones Review

A few months back, I had the pleasure of checking out the EarFun Free Pro 3, an excellent pair of earbuds that packed a lot of incredible features into a very well-priced package. Now EarFun is back at it again, this time showing off their Wave Pro wireless headphones, also priced just as amazing at just $79.99, while packing even more great features into them. Will they have what it takes to become my new pair of Bluetooth headphones among the ever-growing stack I have tested?

Immediately upon seeing the packaging, once again, EarFun made a box that looked as though it would be amongst well-known brands in big box stores. It’s colourful, has loads of information about the product and features high-res photos of the Wave Pro headphones. But of course, you aren’t here to read about the box. You’re here to read about what’s inside.

Inside the box, you are first greeted by one of my favourite inclusions with the Wave Pro headphones, a high-quality carrying case. Unlike most companies who either give you a pouch or generic feeling case with minimal padding for the headphones they’re meant to carry, this one is not only padded but fitted to keep the headphones secure when transporting them around and even has a small pocket inside for storing the charging cable and 3.5mm adapter. While there is no branding found on the case, I preferred this as some company logos or labelling can be obnoxious at times, or sometimes I find it doesn’t look great.

Looking at the headphones themselves, I found the plastic build to be sufficiently sturdy without feeling overly cheap or like they’d break within a few months of regular use. The headband features a pleasant amount of padding while resting on your head while the ear cups themselves had wonderfully padded cushions that were an absolute joy to wear, even for longer listening sessions. Even when wearing them for the majority of the day, I never found myself getting fatigued.

The left side cup houses the charging port while the right side has the media controls and 3.5mm jack for wired use. In only a matter of minutes, I was able to master the operation of the buttons and could operate them easily while wearing them. The buttons themselves had a nice reassuring click to them when pressed and did not feel mushy or cheap like some other headphones I have tested over the years.

The Wave Pro cups also have the ability to fold up, making them more compact when packing them. They also have the ability to rotate to make wearing them around your neck when not in use more comfortable, not that I found myself doing this overly much for personal preference. The band has a wide range of adjustments with 10 notches per side, allowing a range of users to fit them just how they would like, whether it be over a hat or just those with larger heads in general. While I don’t find that I have a large head, some family members with smaller heads found that they slid on their heads while wearing them.

The audio quality was nothing short of incredible when I was using the Wave Pro headphones. Packing large 40mm DLC dynamic coil speakers, the bass was very punchy while mids and high tones were crystal clear, making listening to music or movies a very immersive experience. I often found myself getting lost in my music and forgetting all sense of time, just enjoying the richness of the music I was playing.

“In all my time testing the Wave Pro wireless headphones, I only found I ever had to charge them up once, despite listening to them for well over 100 hours.”

The quality of the Hybrid ANC made listening experiences even better when trying to concentrate on work. With music playing at a conservative volume, I could easily tune out the sounds of someone working next to me or even trying to talk to me despite them only being a few feet away at times. Roommates or family often had to wave their hands at me or find ways to get my attention when they wanted to talk to me because I would not hear them otherwise.

In all my time testing the Wave Pro wireless headphones, I only found I ever had to charge them up once, despite listening to them for well over 100 hours. EarFun claims they will last up to 80 hours without ANC or 55 hours with it on, although I found I could often get more than that. While I don’t have an exact time count, I could go several days using them on and off and not have to worry about charging them, making them ideal for long flights or trips where you don’t want to be worried about charging everything all the time.

EarFun Wave Pro Wireless Headphones Review

For times when you only have a short time to top them up, EarFun has you covered there as well! A measly 10 minutes will still get you through the day with up to 10 hours of playback time.

All in all, the new EarFun Wave Pro wireless headphones deliver superior performance for the price and are well worth investing in. Of all the headphones I have in my collection, these were the pair I always found myself coming back to use. The EarFun Wave Pro wireless headphones combine the best comfort, listening experience and features while not tiring me out while using them. If you need a solid pair of Bluetooth headphones, look no further than the EarFun Wave Pro; you’ll wonder how you went without them.
